How To Make Your Own Honey Sugar Body Scrub

Few things in life feel as wonderful
as a little pampering.

With Summer getting closer all the time, sandal and
sundress weather will be upon us before we know it.
I cannot wait to soak up some sunshine, and enjoy
as much time as I can outside during the warm months.

But after a long, rainy winter, my skin needs some
serious help.
Am I the only one who waits until it's shorts and
flip-flop weather to realize my skin and nails
are in need of an intervention?

Red Country Table

This has been a crazy week, I cannot believe it's already Friday!
I have spent the day painting, moving stuff around, and moving it around again.
A little Star Wars with the kids, and a bowl of kettle corn later, it rained most
of the afternoon (or tried to) so gardening will be saved for the weekend.
The crock pot is simmering, and I cannot think of a better way to spend
my day.

I was SO excited to find this cute little table recently that I had to snap a picture
of it and send it to my DIY buddy while waiting in line.

Homemade Peanut Butter Shake Recipe

We consume peanut butter in large amounts around casa twelveOeight.
Sometimes a mom has to sneak a little peanut butter for herself.
And perhaps add a little ice cream.
And a few other ingredients.
To create the BEST milkshake she has
ever had in her life.

Oh
my
goodness,
you are going to love this.

Yellow Vintage Chair

This little yellow chair is going to find it's new digs in our updated family room.
It's technically a large bedroom upstairs in our home, but is perfect for a
family and play room.  So with some rearranging (and the next project being
a *new* bedroom for my boys once this space is finished) I was able to
get them to agree to be roomies so our flex space could be a reality.

I have painted, done some decorating, and only need to move the sofa in
and hang the curtains to call it complete.  Or as complete as complete as it can
get for like a week, until I move stuff around again.  And again...sound familiar?

Fresh Strawberrry Shake Recipe

I look forward to strawberry season every year, not only because they are delicious but
so good for you.  We grew a ton of them on our little farm growing up.  I miss those
super-fresh-still-warm-from-the-sun berries.

We like to add them to salads, desserts, and my favorite, homemade strawberry shakes.
The kids are hooked now too, I just wish there was a way I could make a shake out
of their veggies.  This will have to do for now.  Here is how I make my all-time
favorite strawberry shakes.  If you have frozen strawberries, they can substitute for
fresh too!

Fresh Strawberry Milkshake Recipe
Makes 2 servings

In a blender, combine the following and blend until smooth:
One pint of natural vanilla ice cream (I use Breyer's)
1/3 cup of milk
1 t. pure vanilla extract
2 T. sugar or Splenda
1/2 pound of fresh or frozen strawberries, stems removed

Blend well, and add a bit more milk if your milkshakes are too thick for your taste.
I like to pour mine in an old canning jar and use a fun straw, beats the drive-thru
any day!

Do you have a favorite strawberry recipe or a secret milkshake that you are willing
to share? Our Pretty Things Link Party starts at 5pm PST every Monday night and is
a great way to connect with other bloggers and DIY fanatics.
Hope you can make it!

Hugs & blessings,
